ALIF

Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a surgical procedure used to treat spinal disorders such as degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis. The procedure involves removing the damaged disc from the front of the spine and replacing it with a bone graft or artificial disc. The surgeon makes an incision in the abdomen to access the spine. ALIF has been shown to cause less muscle dissection, reduced postoperative pain, and faster recovery and return to activities.
